On Thursday 17th February First York Boccia held their 3rd annual A.G.M.

Thankyou to everyone who came along, the committee has seen some changes and its really nice that we now many some of the athletes on the committee.

On Saturday 12th February, 7 Athletes from First York Kurling took part in a Special Olympics event in Featherstone.

The teams taking part were Featherstone Able 2, Wakefield, Pudsey, Doncaster, Thorne and First York.

First York Boccia hosted it's 3rd Invitational Tournament which took part on Saturday 26th June at New Earswick Bowls Club.

Competing were 34 athletes making up 4 teams from York, 3 teams from Pudsey, 1 team from Wakefield and 2 teams from Thorne.

First York Boccia started September 2006 as a very small group, and has steadily grown into a fun and competitive group and social club. Having returned from the Special Olympics with Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals.

You can Start at any level and can play for fun, in the leagues or train for the Special Olympics.

Boccia is organised worldwide by Cerebral Palsy I.S.R.A, Cerebral Palsy international Sports and Recreation Association which was founded in 1978.

C.P. sport is a national charitable organisation based in Nottingham, whose aim is to provide sporting opportunities for those with C.P.

The Game Boccia Can be Played either:

Individually (One v One using 6 balls each)

Pairs (Two v Two using 3 balls each)

Team (Three v Three using 2 balls each)
